The Enthusiast's Magazine of Ferrari
Cavallino is the journal of Ferrari history, covering Ferraris old and new for over 40 years. It's the most reliable, most trusted source of everything Ferrari. Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

8 | Mercato | Mercato What to buy in 1991 Stanley Nowak Dennis Simon Yes, it's official! We are in a recession (aka depression) and have been for at least eight months. Our optimistic view is that the market will remain flat through 1991 with a gradual recovery beginning in 1992 that will bring appreciation to the rate of inflation. A very few outstanding cars have been sold at very high prices but these are the exceptions. |
14 | Feature | The series II Mondials Detailed History of all ten cars, plus race results and performance charts Robert A. Phillips Courtesy of Antoine Prunet, Robert A. Philips, Richard Merritt The longer one is exposed to the fascinating bits and pieces of the Ferrari Factory's history and method of operation, the less one becomes positive about any absolute statements of fact. This treatise attempts to set the record straight with regard to a relatively little known car that contributed to Ferrari's illustrious competition history, |
20 | Feature | The Daytona Coupé - Beauty or Beast? History, appreciation and complete specifications Pete Lyons, Dyke Ridgley, Hilary Raab Guy Mangiamele At long least, we present to you our story of the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, or more particularly, the Daytona Coupé. This was an important car in the Ferrari Grand Scheme of things, both a seminal car and a pivotal car, and a car which many stalwarts believe is the true quintessential, front engined, two seat, grand touring Ferrari berlinetta. |
30 | Modellismo | The Joel Fumey 250 GTO John C. Lutsch John C. Lutsch Ferrari and Le Mans: two great names inextricably linked in the annuals of motor racing, each defining and shaping the character of the other. The main subject of this article, however, is not Le Mans or the real s/n 4399 GT; rather, a diminutive version of the car created by French master model builder Joel Fumey for Motorsports Miniatures. |
32 | Notizie | New Ferrari North America headquarters opens Mark Wallach, Michael Lionetto, Bill Locke Ferrari North America moved into its new headquarters in December in 1990, the old Alfa Romeo headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. It's an ideal set up for them, because alone with an impressive showroom and generous office space. |
32 | Notizie | Ferrari F40 introduced in Canada Steven Kastner Steven Kastner This was the introduction of the F40 on November 6, 1990 in Canada, at the authorised Ferrari dealer in Toronto, Gentry Lane Automobiles. This F40, s/n 86821 was not to stay for long, however, since the F40s don't meet Canadian law yet. |
33 | Notizie | Art Sports in Japan reaches upwards Michael Sheehan Courtesy of European Auto Sales Art Sports was a sponsor of the F40 LMs in the U.S. in 1990 and, at the time, we wondered who they were. They are an exotic car dealer in Japan, and since land is so valuable, and they have so many cars to display and ware warehouse, they decided to build their dealership skyward. |
34 | Notizie | The Colorado Grand by Jeff Allison Jeff Allison Jeff Allison It's hard to improve the classic beauty of Ferrari, but the second running of The Colorado Grand recently did when thirteen vintage Ferraris clambered 1,000 miles around the beautiful mountain passes and valleys of the Colorado Rockies with 85 other exceptional and legendary cars from all over the U.S., Japan, England, and Denmark. |
34 | Notizie | Ferrari Festivities in Switzerland Andreas Meiniger Some information about the meetings of the new Swiss Ferrari scene last year. The first was the meeting of the Ferrari Club Suisse, which happened on April 7, 1990, at Montreux. On display at the Centre d'Exposition were over 150 Ferraris, many of them old and rare cars. |
35 | Corse | Formula One Championship Autosprint, Matitacci Japanese Grand Prix, October 21, 1990 The Fallout ... Australian Grand Prix, November 4, 1990 Progress continues ... Alesi arrives, Prost disappears ... |
36 | Corse | Ferraris help to open new Japanese Circuit Michael Sheehan Junichiro Hiramatsu, Courtesy of European Auto Sales On November 18, 1990, Japan's new Tanaka International Race Circuit (or TI Circuit Aide) held its rather spectacular grand opening. The new racing circuit, the clubhouse and the pit facilities are the finest of any racetrack in the world ever visited by this author, and are actually much more comparable to those of a very exclusive private golf club or a private gentlemen's club. |
37 | Corse | Ferrari powered Rockets in IMSA Competition End of a Season and next year's plans Robert Pease We pick up the action in San Antonio, Texas. With three races left in the season, the Bieri Racing Team was in second place in the IMSA Camel Light Championship. In order to clinch the series the team would have to win each of the remaining three races. |
